South Africa, Dec’22 – Hermanus

One and a half hour’s drive from Cape Town is the coastal destination of ‘Hermanus’. Hermanus is generally considered the best land-based whale-watching destination in the world. From June to December, the bay becomes the swimming grounds for many southern right whales. What might have otherwise just been a small fishing village is today a large, bustling town with an excellent range of accommodation, restaurants and shops. It also serves as a great base to conduct some wine tasting tours!

We are very fortunate to have awesome friends in Hermanus and made our base with Arnold and Ronel Greeff and visited with Johan and Alice Deyzel. These couples have seen the world, and it is always great to fellowship and discuss topics wide and far. Their homes and gardens are gorgeous and everyday presented a different view and mood over the ocean and mountains.
