Reno and Lake Tahoe 1

45-miles from Reno, NV, across the mountain pass of Rose Mountain (and the ski resort on top), lays Lake Tahoe. 22 miles long, 12 miles wide and 1,645 feet deep, it is a creation wonder shaped over millions of years. Several fault lines run underneath the lake, still shaping the landscape today. Crystal clear waters, beautiful beaches, awesome mountains and majestic forests surround the lake – making it impossible to capture it in a photograph. This stunning place warrants more than one post as there is just so much to take in.
