Denver, CO – Georgetown

If they made a movie about early mining towns, Georgetown could be the star. The active Historic Georgetown sees that it stays that way, and to recall the heyday of the silver boom in this area, located just 45 minutes west of Denver. It’s situated high in the Rocky Mountains at 8,530 feet in a somewhat narrow valley. Since its beginning as a mining camp in 1859, Georgetown has attracted those who have sought something very special. First it was the magic of gold and silver ore, now it’s the beauty and ambiance of this picturesque town surrounded by the Rocky Mountains.
