While visiting Dublin, Ireland a few years ago, we noticed colorful front doors along rows of homes. A historian told us that back in the early 1900’s, all homes had to be unform and in a moment of rebellion, homeowners started to paint their doors different colors.
Here in Maine, it seems to be a fashion statement, and one we enjoy very much.
